Cleaning Instructions
Cleaning Instructions
When maintaining your product, it’s essential to follow the specific cleaning instructions provided for the fabric you selected. Different fabrics require different care methods, which helps preserve their appearance and longevity. Please adhere to the following general guidelines unless specific instructions are provided for your chosen material:
Consult the Fabric cleaning documentation
Before cleaning, always check the documentation that came with your product. Each fabric type will have specific cleaning recommendations.
Spot Testing
For all fabrics, perform a spot test in a hidden area to ensure the cleaning product does not discolour or damage the material.
Vacuuming
Regularly vacuum fabric surfaces with a soft brush attachment to remove dust, dirt, and debris that can accumulate over time.
General Cleaning Methods by Fabric Type:
- Natural Fabrics (Cotton, Linen):
Gently clean with a mild soap and water solution. Avoid soaking, and blot the fabric dry with a clean towel.
- Synthetic Fabrics (Polyester, Acrylic):
Use a damp cloth and mild detergent. Avoid using bleach or harsh chemicals, which can weaken synthetic fibres.
- Winter Fur Corduroy:
Cleaning should be done with a gentle hand wash, avoiding chemicals or solvents.
- Corduroy:
Cold Wash: Machine wash with cold water.
Do Not Bleach: Avoid using bleach or harsh chemicals.
Do Not Tumble Dry: Air dry only.
Iron: Use medium heat for ironing if needed.
Dry Cleaning: Can be dry cleaned for convenience.
- Velvet:
Special attention is needed. Use a soft brush or velvet/suede cleaner. Avoid saturating the material with water.
- Leather:
Wipe with a damp cloth, avoiding harsh soaps. Leather-specific cleaners are recommended for deep cleaning and conditioning.
- Outdoor Fabrics:
Designed for weather resistance, these fabrics can often be cleaned with water and mild detergent. Ensure the fabric is completely dry before storage.
- Macrame Cushion Cleaning Instructions
- Regular Maintenance: Gently shake or vacuum the cushions regularly to remove dust and debris.
- Spot Cleaning: For minor stains, use a soft cloth or sponge dampened with water. Blot the stained area gently—do not rub, as this may damage the fibres.
- Hand Washing: If a deeper clean is needed, fill a basin with lukewarm water and mild detergent. Submerge the cushion and gently agitate it, then rinse thoroughly with clean water.
- Air Drying: Allow the cushion to air dry completely. Avoid direct sunlight to prevent fading.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place when not in use, and avoid prolonged exposure to moisture to prevent mould or mildew.
- Professional Cleaning
- For delicate or expensive fabrics, professional cleaning services are recommended to avoid damage.
*Always prioritize following the specific care instructions provided with your product for optimal maintenance.
